Industrial cleaning has long been a challenging and hazardous task, but the advent of SOCL has liberated workers from these arduous duties. Designed to navigate complex environments, SOCL works in tandem with factory systems such as elevators and automatic doors, proving especially beneficial in sectors like IC equipment and new energy battery manufacturing. This intelligent robot not only enhances efficiency but also ensures safety within the industrial cleaning process.
What sets SOCL apart is its unique blend of service robot intelligence with industrial robot efficiency. The design boasts a futuristic aesthetic with sharp lines, a distinctive color scheme, and sci-fi-inspired lighting that complements its industrial surroundings. SOCL's advanced features include industrial SLAM navigation technology and the iMRS mobile robot control system, which enable it to execute cleaning tasks with precision and autonomy.
With dimensions of 936mm in width, 840mm in depth, and 1035mm in height, and weighing 280kg, SOCL is designed for optimal performance. It has a cleaning width of 750mm, a tank clearance capacity of 80L, and a tank capacity of 70L. Its safety features include laser vision and ultrasonic fall protection, ensuring a secure operation as it cleans with a minimal edge distance of 20cm.
SOCL's operation is seamless. Users input cleaning tasks into the system, and the robot autonomously begins its work, scanning the factory layout to create a panoramic map. It then devises the most efficient cleaning strategy to handle complex tasks automatically. Should it encounter obstacles, SOCL's built-in safety mechanisms allow it to navigate around them without human intervention.
The development of SOCL spanned from 2021 to 2023, with the project based in Shenyang, Liaoning, China. The design team, led by Guangpeng Yue and including Huaidong Yang, Shuqi Zhang, and several others, focused on creating a robot that could seamlessly integrate with factory operations without disrupting production. Their research and modular design approach have culminated in a robot capable of meeting the demanding needs of industrial cleaning.
SOCL's excellence in design and functionality has not gone unnoticed. It has been honored with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Robotics, Automaton, and Automation Design category in 2024. This accolade is a testament to the robot's innovative features and its significant contribution to improving quality of life and advancing the field of industrial maintenance.
